Every feature

Everything tech-pos does today, area by area, with the screen each thing lives on. At the bottom is the part most product lists leave out: what is not built, and what is built but standing in for something real until a key or a document arrives.

Before you read the list

Not every store gets every area. Each store switches on only what it needs, and your plan and your role narrow it further — see the five reasons a button is missing. A short menu is normal.

What is not built

These are switched off in the software, not merely hidden. Nobody can turn them on for you today. Where you see a toggle in Settings marked "coming soon", this is why.

Not builtWhat that means for you
Age-restricted checkout The till has no interlock that stops an age-restricted line and demands a date of birth or a manager. There are permissions reserved for it, but the prompt itself does not exist. If you sell alcohol or tobacco, that check is still a human one.
Layaway, lay-by and deposits — and quotes You cannot take a deposit and hold goods against a payment plan, and you cannot issue a written quote that later becomes a sale.
Customer-facing second screen There is no display that shows the shopper their basket as it is scanned.
Online ordering No web shop, no click-and-collect ordering page. Delivery orders exist, but somebody in the shop creates them.
Expenses Permissions for logging and approving expenses are reserved, but there is no screen and no record to put an expense in.
Shareholdings, owner drawings, investment The owner's overview shows the business's trading. It does not track who owns what share, money you have drawn out, or money put in.
Your own audit log Actions are recorded, and the platform has an audit view, but the screen where you read your own business's audit trail is not built.
Other languages and regional formats The app is English, with one date and number style.

What is built but not yet proven

These work end to end in the software, but the last link — a real bank, a real tax authority, a real courier, a real email provider — is a stand-in until somebody supplies a key or a document. They are safe to demonstrate and not safe to rely on.

Filing tax to a country's authority

There are slots for the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada and Pakistan, and the software will hold a fiscal profile and a list of submissions for each finished sale. Nothing is actually sent to any tax authority. The Pakistan adapter is explicitly a stand-in, and the others are outlines. What you can do today is record a submission and mark it accepted with the authority's reference number, or rejected — a place to keep the record, not a filing.

Receipts by email and text message

The software composes the receipt and knows where to send it. Until an email provider key and a text-message account are configured, the message is written to a log instead of being sent. The store settings screen deliberately hides a channel whose provider is not wired up, so you cannot promise a customer something that will not arrive. Printed receipts and the web receipt link work either way. The same applies to password-reset emails and to the overdue-payment notices for your subscription.

Card machines wired to your bank

You can save your card machine's address on the shop network, and the desktop app will check that the machine answers. It will not send the amount to the machine. Doing that needs your acquirer's integration document, which describes exactly what to send; guessing at it and writing to a live payment terminal can leave the machine stuck part-way through a transaction, which is not a risk worth taking with somebody's card in it.

Until that document arrives, the working method is: ring the sale up, key the amount into the bank's machine yourself, and record the approval reference against the sale. The books balance; only the keystroke is manual.

Stripe and Square readers

These are real once you put your own keys in on the Hardware & payments screen — a genuine reader, a genuine authorisation. With no keys, the till falls back to a virtual terminal that always approves. That is exactly right for training a new cashier and exactly wrong for a paying customer, so check which one a register is on before you open the doors.

Couriers

Every delivery provider on the list is a stand-in that moves the order along by itself after a while. No real courier is called and no rider is dispatched. Use it to learn the flow, and to dispatch by hand in the meantime.

The accounting connection

The connector to an outside accounting package signs you in to a sandbox with a pretend account. Real sign-in to an accounting provider is not built. What does work for real is a plain signed message sent to an address you control, so a developer can pick your data up.

The assistant

With no AI key configured, the assistant answers with a visible "Mock AI" notice and cannot read photographs. With a key, it is real — and either way it never changes anything without showing you a Confirm card first.

Nothing prints, and nothing opens the drawer

This one deserves its own heading because it surprises people. tech-pos can pair a register to a device and hand it credentials, but there is no bridge to a receipt printer, a cash drawer, a scale or a label printer. Specifically:

Working without a connection

The desktop version keeps finished retail sales in a queue on the counter machine, so a dropped connection does not lose a sale — it goes up when the line comes back. That queue is the only offline path. Everything else, the restaurant floor included, needs a connection.

Built and tested, but switched off in the app

Three areas are finished and covered by tests, but hidden behind a switch that is currently off, so they do not appear in anybody's menu regardless of role:

If you need one of these, it is a switch on our side rather than a build. Ask, and say which store.

One more honest note

Inside the app, only the till and the Super Admin area check who you are before the screen opens. Every other screen relies on the menu not offering it. Somebody who types an address in directly can reach a screen their menu does not show — the data behind it is still refused, so they will see an empty or failing page rather than someone else's figures, but it is worth knowing before you hand a tablet to a customer.

Screenshot to come: the Settings → Modules page, with the switched-on areas ticked and the deferred ones greyed out with their "coming soon" note
Settings → Modules is where you see which of this list is live for your store.
